  • UPDATE:

I have Friday off so I will get there earlier than most/all of you, so here's how you get to Zip's Cabin:  Travel east on Hwy 2 until you get to Mile Marker 191, you will see a sign for Zip's Place.  After you pass that sign, take a right on Slippery Bill Road and follow the signs to Zip's (it's well marked).  About 3/4 of a mile in you will arrive at a large parking area, on the left, that is for Zip's renters to park in if the snow is too deep for you go continue the 1.1 miles to the cabin.  Park there and ski your supplies down the road to the cabin.  If the snow is not too deep and you are certain that your vehicle can travel all the way to the cabin, do so.  Click HERE to view a map of the area.

If you are a CROSS COUNTRY SKIER, then this weekend is for you.  I did this last year and it proved to be the best xc skiing I've done here.  You will need some sort of sled to put your supplies in and that sled will need to be skied in, by you, the 1 mile to Zip's Cabin.  It maybe early enough in the year that a 4x4 can make it to the cabin though, but be prepared to ski in.

The cabin sleeps 8 and has electricity.  The cost to you is $16 (Friday through Sunday) based on an occupancy of 8, slightly more if less than 8 go.

This is a cross country skiers weekend, but If the cabin isn't full by February 17th (with skiers), then I will open it up to non-skiers to fill the remaining spots.
