The Queen City Steppers are working with Mr. LC Henderson from Chicago (also known as "The Technician") on a monthly basis. LC is one of the best Chicago Steppin instructors in the country. He developed the 3-beat 8-count method of instruction to teach himself how to step. Today this method is widely recognized throughout the U.S. as the most efficient and precise teaching method.
What is Chicago Steppin?
Steppin is a derivative of several African American dance forms, The Ring-Shout, The Swing, The Offtime, The Bop, & The New Bop in particular. A dance consisting of two or more people dancing as partners in synchronization to a 6 or 8 count beat to music sounds of Jazz, Soul, Funk, R&B, Neo Soul, or Rap Music.
Steppin is currently one of the most popular aspects of America's social climate, gaining popularity at a very rapid pace, manifesting in many major cities: Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Houston, Milwaukee, LA, Oakland, Seattle, and other heavy poplulated areas.
