We are a bilingual mindfulness meditation community (sangha) in the tradition of Vietnamese Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. Thich Nhat Hanh teaches the art of mindful living and engaged Buddhism. We will share in practices of mindfulness in order to nourish happiness, joy, and equanimity in ourselves and in our society. More information on our tradition can be found at https://plumvillage.org/ and https://wkup.org/about/ .
Our gatherings will consist of guided sitting meditation, tea meditation, reading, and dharma sharing. This group is open to anyone of any or no spiritual/religious affiliation.
Some familiarity with Thich Nhat Hanh's work is appreciated but certainly not required.
This Sunday, join us in our practice of guided sitting meditation, tea meditation, study + discussion of one of Thich Nhat Hanh's books, and dharma sharing. We may also enjoy outdoor walking meditation at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Park if the weather permits.
You are invited to familiarize yourself with Thich Nhat Hanh's teachings at https://plumvillage.org/ and https://wkup.org/.
Our gathering will begin at 10:30am and end at 12:30.
Because we will be meeting at a private residence, I will only be reaching out to those who have RSVPed with the address. *For those of you who have attended gatherings in the past, we will be meeting at the same location. You can message me privately if you don't have the address!*
Please bring your own cushion if you have one and wear loose, comfortable clothing. We have mats and pillows for those who do not have cushions.
Feel free to reach out with any questions, and we look forward to practicing together!
