What do you hope to get from this meet-up?

Meeting people interested in in-depth discussions on the Internet of things. Discussing the actual problems (barriers to interoperability, etc.) vs. a manic excitement about all connected things. Hopefully people who can rant about this amazing missed opportunities of RSS and Twitter and how all of this will appear again in a new form in a few more years (hopefully).

What things do you think we can do to help make this a great participation?

A great space, short presentations, discussion groups, challenges, and...maybe some snacks?

Do you have suggestions for speakers or specific topics you would like to hear?

Speakers that can cover historical topics, not just what we have now, but where we came from, and little-known facts and figures that built up the original ideas behind the Internet of Things. It would also be fun to have a "fireside chat" with someone like Sheldon Renan.

Hi! I've been following ubicomp, calm computing, wearables, interoperability, devices "smaller on the outside than on the inside", RSS hacking, Yahoo! Pipes, connected computing, MIT Media lab and am excited about the Internet of Things.
