ThingsCon Salon #14 - The Real Future of Mobility
Smart mobility is a hot topic. Autonomous driving, new platforms for mobility with Mobility as a Service, changing city infrastructures for bikes. The theme is quite broad. In this Salon we will take a look into the envisioned future and connect this to what is necessary to make this future for real. We will facilitate a workshop for 10-30 people that will explore possible futures, based on a design fiction exercise. The outcomes of the sessions are concrete mobility stories visualised as advertisements of future products. In the meetup following after the workshop we will give the floor to three to four thought provoking speakers to discuss the realisation of the (near) future of mobility. What needs to happen to the infrastructure? What is needed for sharing? How will the cities change and what are the next urban commons? They will do a short presentation to share their vision. Afterwards they will reflect together in a panel on the advertisements from the workshop. For this #14th Salon ThingsCon Amsterdam is teaming up with info.nl to organise an inspiring event on the future of mobility. info.nl is an experienced party in creating platforms for future mobility concepts in reality. The Real Future - what do we need to live the envisioned future? This event will be part of Eweek 2018. [This is a first version of the description, will be tuned. Speakers to be announced]

    What we're about

After the successful edition of ThingsCon Amsterdam 2015, we, the organising team, had the idea not to wait until December 2016 to have another get-together with our ‘new things-enthusiasts’. Also we heard a lot of attendees share the pity of only be able to do one of the workshops. That inspired us to plan the ThingsCon Salons!

Now we have organised Salons in 2016 and 2017. Check our latest here and RSVP to be there!

ThingsCon Amsterdam is organised by Iskander Smit, Monique van Dusseldorp, Marcel Schouwenaar, and Dries De Roeck.
