TED Meet Up St Albans June Meeting

The next meeting is next week and these are the feature presentations
Brené Brown: The power of vulnerability
This talk is a TED classic with nearly 10 million views. Brené Brown studies human connection -- our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity. A talk to share

Laurence Lessig: Lesterland
I saw this talk at a live screening of the 2013 TED Conference and I thought it to be the most important TED talk I had seen. It hits at the heart of arguably the most important issue of our time – the power of the wealthy.

There is a corruption at the heart of American politics, caused by the dependence of Congressional candidates on funding from the tiniest percentage of citizens. That's the argument at the core of this blistering talk by legal scholar Lawrence Lessig. With rapid-fire visuals, he shows how the funding process weakens the Republic in the most fundamental way, and issues a rallying bipartisan cry that will resonate with many in the U.S. and beyond.

To what extent are all countries like this? Come along and decide for yourself.

We will also have short presentations on walking meetings, the news, 30 days to change your life and magic.

We hope you can make it.
