What we're about

We are Conejo Valley's Free Running Club. We meet weekly on Sunday Mornings and follow a schedule for all levels of running. Beginners choose "Pre-Conditioning", and over 12 weeks go from 1 mile to 5 miles. Safely and Enjoyably. Advanced Runners can follow a Half Marathon template that covers 3-9 mile runs. You choose the pace, there's always someone to run with who's your level. We cover injury prevention, help with running mechanics, warm ups, and camaraderie! Make friends, get fit!

Sunday Runs

Wildflower Playfields

Sunday Runs! 7:30am Come for the Run, Stay for the Fun! *Our runs average 10-30 runners/walkers on a typical Sunday. Meetup rsvp is only reflecting meetup interest. Our actual turnout is always more. See you there! We're a running club for all abilities. We love newbies, but we have some fast racers, too! No matter what your running interest, it's for anyone looking to have friends to run with. Pre conditioning program: -EASE your way to running and do it SLOWLY AND SAFELY. We will start with 1min of running followed by 5min of walking. We'll go for 30min total and call it a day. Then, each week we'll add one more minute of running time until we are at 5min of running and 1min walking on the 6th week. The gradual increase in running time will have you enjoying the process as you become faster and stronger with each passing week. -USED TO RUN but it's been a long time and are unsure or concerned about how to go about it. Rest assured, our running template does all the math for you. We'll break it down and tell you how far and how much to do each week. -WORKING THROUGH AN INJURY. Our gradual onramp program is great for building fitness after an injury. We'll make sure you don't do too much too soon and we'll even offer Running Clinics on select dates to help you get back on your way. At the end of 12 weeks, you will confidently conquer a 5mile run and live to tell all your friends about it! ARE YOU READY? Here's what to do now- 1. visit our website www.thousandoakspacers.com (http://www.thousandoakspacers.com/) or find us on Facebook as "Thousand Oaks Pacers" and get up to the minute details and learn more about our FREE club. 2. Share this message with your friends. We find that it's impossible to guess which friends will boldly declare "they have always wanted to be a runner" or "they secretly have always admired those runners they drive past and wish they could be one". May as well tell 'em all! 3. Make a decision to JUST DO IT. Get your shoes out of the closet, or head over to Future Track in Agoura (they sponsor us) and get some new kicks! Tell them you're a Pacer and get 10% off shoes and apparel!! Still have questions? Just ask, we are here to help! Yours in health,

Cross Training for Runners

Bodyfix

*Actual turnout to this workout is actually much more than the rsvp's you'll see here. We draw from several sites, especially Facebook and word of mouth. In other words, you won't be the only one! The runner's worst enemy is lack of variability. We've all been there. We run and run with dogged discipline and yet sooner or later the aches and pains creep in to ruin the fun. Beef up your hips, knees, ankles and back with a solid cross training program where you'll add that insurance that is strength and power to your runner's body. Yes, this class meets at Crossfit, but IT'S NOT Crossfit, it's cross training. The instructors are runners and trained in keeping it SAFE. If you're injured, let us know and we can work around your issues, or if needed, get you evaluated by Dr. Rich Cimadoro, our head coach, founder of the Thousand Oaks Pacer and Bodyfix to help put you back in the game. Classes are $10/session or $60/mo.
