For September, we will venture into West Hollywood, a neighborhood known for its walkable streets, eccentric art and design businesses, gay population and nightlife. The Sunset Strip is also in West Hollywood.
We will start with Brunch at The Hudson, a unique neighborhood spot that is styled like a pre-prohibition Chicago banker bar. Check out the menu here:
Then onward to walking west on Santa Monica Boulevard, checking out the main street of West Hollywood. We will end at the the Schindler House & Mak Center on Kings Road and explore the house. Designed by Rudolf Schindler and completed in 1922, the house set a precedent in residential architecture as it was designed as a cooperative live/work space that integrates the exterior environment. They often also have artist exhibits within the house. Admission is $7. Check out their website below.
NOTE: Please bring cash for Brunch and Admission to the house. And please keep your RSVP up to date, as I will be making a reservation at the Hudson.
For Parking: I suggest finding neighborhood parking south of Santa Monica Blvd, west of Crescent Heights Blvd. Metered Parking is available on Santa Monica Blvd.
As always, see you soon and look forward to growing our view of this great city of Los Angeles!
