Join us for a wonderful afternoon visit to Cambridge that includes:
a hilarious play at the city's stunning new 500-seat theatre overlooking the Grand River and a visit to the 200-acre country estate of Langdon Hall where we'll be served a traditional English afternoon tea that includes sandwiches, pastries, scones and Devon cream. The play is produced by Drayton Entertainment (http://draytonentertainment.com/aboutus/our_story/), Canada's third largest professional theatre company.
Members can attend both the show and tea or they are welcome to attend one activity only -- the show or the tea.
Carpools ($20 per passenger) are being organized. Travel time to Cambridge from Hwy 401/Yonge Street is about one hour. Passenger spots are for members who can't drive.
Our group is getting a 20 per cent discount on regular priced tickets for the show. No discount is available for the tea.
UPDATE AUG. 27: ALL THE TEA SPOTS ARE FULL NOW. LANGDON HALL CANNOT ACCOMMODATE ANYONE ELSE FOR TEA. MEMBERS ARE STILL WELCOME TO JOIN US FOR THE SHOW BEFORE THE TEA.
Backstage antics take centre stage in this uproarious comedy when a world-famous tenor overdoses on tranquilizers before his premiere performance in the opera, Otello. Replaced by a hapless understudy looking for his big break, complications arise when the gallant tenor finally comes to his senses… and is determined to give the performance he never gave! Join us for a hilarious tale of mistaken identity that hits all the right notes. Written by American playwright Ken Ludwig (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Ludwig). Note: Belinda has seen this play before and it is absolutely non-stop funny! Highly, highly recommended!

Built in Canada by the son of an English man who inherited American wealth, the grand home was intended as a summertime contrast to life in New York, London and a château in the Loire valley.
