This photowalk is presented by The Photographic Society of Vineland in partners with Cumberland County Collage's Millville Arts & Innovation Center. The Photowalk is open to photographers of any level and will be conducted by Tom Holding of Thunderbolt Photographics.
This workshop is …FREE … and the Zoo is …FREE… however a donation to the zoo on your way out is encouraged.
This photo-walk is open to all skill levels and will be weather dependent.
We will do a walk through the zoo capturing images as we go. The first stop will be the aviary where we will do head and shoulder portraits of the flamingos and other birds. Proceeding to the rest of the park, we will capture the peacocks that roam free as we work our way to the river otters and the reptile house. Continuing our journey, we will visit the African Savanna. Ducks, deer, goats, bison, etc. will round out our visit.
Lenses from mid telephoto up to the longest you have will work. I did 95% of my photos with a 75 to 300mm. We will concentrate on composition, depth of field, and eliminating distracting backgrounds. A monopod or an image stabilization lens/camera will be useful.
The aviary and reptile house are ideal for shooting on automatic mode, and either auto or shutter preferred will work throughout the rest of the park.
If you have never been to this zoo, you will not be disappointed.
