This is a great workshop to combine two photographic opportunities, an equestrian setting and models. The workshop consists of instruction and model photography in the equestrian setting, and any horse/barn/stable images that beg to be photographed.
We will begin at 8:30 AM on the outside grounds taking advantage of the wonderful morning light, and as time progresses, we will end up in the stables as the light outside gets harsh, finishing at noon. We anticipate having three models. We will have a trained horse handler that will work with us, along with a "gentle" horse or two. During the workshop, and after the portrait sessions are over, both shots of the grounds, and "still lifes" are available in the stable.
The portrait sessions will be led by Susan of Susan Grace Photography. Susan has received multiple national awards for her portraits of young women and also specializes in dance photography. For more information on Susan, please visit Susan Grace Photography at susangracephotography.com Susan will photograph the models to demonstrate how she captures the image, and her posing & lighting techniques. Her models will be fully styled in a Bohemian fashion that suits this equestrian location. Participants will gain an understanding for working with the existing light and posing for mood and story. After Susan has demonstrated and captured her images, each photographer will have ample time to capture their own images. You will be able to pose the model with your own style.
Each photographer is strongly encouraged to submit at least three digital images of each model after you have had time to edit and process. More details will be sent to those that register.
The location of this workshop is in South Jersey, Salem County. The exact location for our meeting time will be e mailed to those that register.
As soon as we confirm the models/dancers, we will add their photos to this meetup event.
This workshop is open to all skill levels. Knowledge of manual exposures a plus. Equipment needed: camera, wide angle to moderate telephoto, a portrait lens would be useful, tripod, shutter release, and a flashlight for some supplemental light painting. We will use existing light and we will provide a supplemental reflector and fill light.
This is a light rain or shine workshop. Due to the nature of private access with minimums and deposits, refunds are not available but are transferable to other participants. Refunds will be given if we do not meet the minimum number of participants. Transportation is not included.
RSVP early - this workshop will fill up quickly.
Additional specific details will be e mailed to those that register approximately 1 week before the event.
