Join Time Travelers Costume Guild for our Portland Prohibition Era (1840's-1933) Picnic.

Pack an elegant picnic luncheon, don your Sunday best historical attire (Victorian-1930's) and join us! Stroll the lovely grounds of Peninsula Park's Rose Gardens after sharing some nosh. Join in lawn, card and board games. Have your photo taken in Jeff's 1920 Model T Ford.

Are you WET or DRY? Attendees will be encouraged to show their support for or against alcohol prohibition. Choose a button, a picket sign and let your voice be heard!

We'll supply the FREE lemonade! Glass mugs available with $1. donation.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle)- wine and beer only please - no bathtub gin allowed!

We encourage you to dress within the time period period of alcohol prohibition in Oregon (1840's-1933). Victorian, Edwardian, 1920's, through 1930's attire is all good!
Costume admired, never required. Please do your best to wear historically inspired attire- no jeans and T-shirts please. Costuming links will be provided in the invite discussion.

Peninsula Park (at North Rosa Parks Blvd, & North Albina) was Portland's first rose garden. This 1916 Edwardian gem is spectacular with fountain, pavillions, stairways, gazebo, and rose gardens which make for wonderful photo ops!

Find us at the heptagon (seven sided) picnic shelter, right off North Albina Avenue, south of the Community Center- Picnic Shelter "A".

Family Friendly. There is a water feature area and a children's play area nearby

NOTE: This is a leave no trace event. Please be prepared to take home your own garbage.

TABLES: White tablecloths will be provided for the seven large picnic tables arranged around the edges of the shelter.

If you would prefer to bring your own linens, table and chairs, there is plenty of room. There is also space on the grass, for your blanket and basket if you prefer.

"Prohibition Picnics" were popular family friendly events held by Temperance organizations throughout the country, from the mid- 1800's through 1920 when the 18th Ammendment went into effect.

Orators for and against "Demon Rum" were often featured as well as speeches by Abolishionists, and for Women's Suffrage.

TTCG: Time Travelers Costume Guild Group is an 70 member, 501c3 non-profit. We hold costume events in the Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, WA Metro area. We are multi-genre cosplayers, and costumers who explore fantasy, historical, vintage and creative thrift shop costuming.
