April Salon: 1:30-3:00 Laura Sinclair McShane will discuss Victorian Underwear and there will be a preview of TTCG Costumer's Closet Workshop- Victorian Knickers event which will be held on May 18th. You will also be able to register for the workshop, and get your measurements taken for your knickers kit to be used at the workshop! Go to the May 18th Costumer's Clsoset Workshop invite here: https://www.facebook.com/events/560294561115396/ At this FREE April salon Laura will be demonstrating some of the fine sewing techniques you will be using for making Victorian and Edwardian lingerie. These techniques are also wonderful for other garments of the era or for any time you want an especially fine look to your project. If you wish to practice these techniques at the salon please bring the following: 1. Your machine, in good working order. Oil the night before, please. 2. Two universal or sharp machine needles, size 9 or 10. 3. White thread. 4. A piece of lightweight cotton to practice on. Please do not bring poly/cotton blends, linen, or stretch fabrics. 5. If you have a tiny pair of sharp embroidery scissors bring those, but don't go out and buy unless you really want to. 6. Pieces of lace with at least one straight edge. Best results are achieved with a combination of double edged and single edged lace. Beading and eyelet also are fun. Please note--this is different than the actual workshop in which you will be making your very own pair of Victorian knickers. 3:00-4:30 pm Events Calendar discussion Note: TTCG Members get a discount!
