Time for a road trip north to Pennsylvania and New York to capture some of the best waterfalls on the east coast. Ricketts Glen State Park - October 13, 2016

Ricketts Glen is considered one of the premier parks in Pennsylvania with its 22 waterfalls lining the groom trails. If you love waterfalls and cascades than this gorgeous location will offer you endless photographic opportunities. This workshop will require around 7 miles of hiking ranging from moderate to steep inclines and descends.

We will shoot waterfalls all day at Ricketts and after finishing, will head north to Watkins Glen.

Watkins Glen State Park - October 13-14, 2016

Watkins Glen State Park is a breathtaking trail with rocky cliffs and cascading waterfalls that will make your images look like they were made in a different world. There are also several locations nearby that offers tantalizing views that we will hit if we have enough time.

Plan to very early Thursday morning on October 13th. We will make car pool arrangements with everyone when the dates get closer.

Learning Expectations

Every image should tell a story and convey emotion. In the field we stress slowing down, defining the subject and deciding how to tell the story using your camera, and equally important, your eyes and inner vision. We will discuss the need for foregrounds, leading lines and/or patterns and how to handle these in different ways. We will stress simplicity and use all aspects, including depth of field, proper exposure, filter usage and more to improve your overall photography. All of this will help you become a better “thinking” photographer, while at the same time making it possible to return home with some wonderful images you took in unforgettable locations.

Equipment, Clothing and Miscellaneous will be address closer to start of workshop. However, please feel free to email directly at [masked] with any questions.
