Art and the Reformation

My Dear Friends,

It is to your great credit that you have put up with my posting the readings so irregularly lately. We will start on a book soon, which will make things musch easier.

In the meantime, the least I can do is to suggest a very short reading this week.

Short, but important.

This week we will read a few excerpts from Luther, Zwingli, and Calvin. Few people have had a greater impact on the role and understanding of art in church and culture than these men.

I hope you will have an opportunity to read a few of the excerpts. They are thought-provoking, and I am looking forward to discussing them with you. But of course, do come if you don't have a chance to read – on account of the late posting, everyone gets extra tangent tokens on the house!

See you Wednesday, 7pm, on the upstairs back patio at the Ginger Man.

Well, it turns out my tardiness finally caught up with me; word on the street is that most people won't have time to read for Wednesday or already have conflicting plans. So, we're going to take a week off and resume with these readings the following week, on Wednesday, March 20th.
