Heroes needed! Are you game?

D&D Encounters is an exciting, weekly campaign that plays out one epic encounter at a time. Each week you'll defeat enemies, solve puzzles, finish quests, and perform heroic deeds, you’ll gain experience and gold. Each session only takes 90 to 120 minutes to play, so it’s easy to fit your game in after school or work. And each week there’s a new and exciting challenge.

The people of Icewind Dale have long stood against the perils of the North. For most of these folk, the events that shook the region a hundred years ago are now distant memories. But what was defeated was not destroyed, and the sinister influence of the Crystal Shard, Crenshinibon, has now wormed its way into the very land of Icewind Dale. As evil forces converge on Ten Towns, the people of the North face their greatest trial yet. Fortunately, they won’t have to face it alone.

The Sundering is Upon Us!

The Sundering (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/sundering.aspx) will reshape the Forgotten Realms, involving the whole pantheon of gods, many nations, countless individuals, and the fabric of the cosmos itself. Powerful forces both mortal and divine are set in motion, and will bring an end to the Era of Upheaval. Over the course of this huge story event, players will have the opportunity to help shape the future of Faerûn and make their story legend.

Two Ways to Play

Of course, there are a great many players who enjoy playing D&D 4th Edition, as well as players excited about the D&D Next Playtest. And so, this upcoming season of D&D Encounters will will continue to support both D&D 4th Edition and D&D Next! Some tables may be starting at 1st level, some may be starting at 4th level.

Character Creation

We highly recommend using the official D&D Character Builder (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Tool.aspx?x=dnd/4new/tool/characterbuilder) if you want to play 4th edition. Characters can be built using material from any official 4th Edition rules source, including but not limited to Heroes of the Fallen Lands and Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms, as well as Player's Option: Heroes of the Elemental Chaos™, Player's Option: Heroes of the Feywild™, Player's Option: Heroes of Shadow™, and Into the Unknown: The Dungeon Survival Handbook™.

Players interested in playing D&D Next can download, for FREE, the most recent edition of the public Playtest Rules (http://www.dndnext.com).

We will try and have pre-generated 4th Edition and D&D Next characters available. Want to build a character on your own? Players creating new characters should check with the DM at their table to see what level they should build their character.
