This will be our last meetup for this year, lets make it a good one!
We are meeting at Cheryl's house Saturday November 10th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Note: Cheryl has three cats so if you have allergies be forwarned.
Since this is our last meetup, we ask each of you to BRING A DISH TO SHARE. We appreciate exotic plants and other interesting items, but in fairness to all, you should prepare a dish to share. A serving for 6 to 8 people will suffice.
Please bring a 3x5 card stating the ingredients of the dish so others can see what is in it and post your recipe with preparation instructions under the "Discussions" tab on the meetup site.
Lately, my favorite un-cook book has been the "Rainbow Green Life-Food Cuisine" by Gabriel Cousens. What makes this one different from many raw books and recipies is that there is hardly any sugar in the recipes. You don't find yourself adding agave, honey, dates or other sweeteners to the recipies. He also steers you away from peanuts and cashews . This should make a interesting discussion topic if you want to read up on sugar and what it does to your body. Even if it is "natural" as in occuring in fruit.
Food for thought until the next meetup!
Cheers and good eats until then, Beatrice & Sharon
