What we're about

Tired of writing at home or sitting alone behind your laptop in some anonymous coffee shop, dying to connect with other writers but not sure how? Step out of that isolation and join our small group of local writers for a 3-hour block of time to write, snack, and chat. We'd love to get to know you, but we promise not to bug you if you have your earbuds in.

Tuesday Discussions: The Writing Life

Julie's Coffee & Tea Garden

In August, the theme, rather than the topic, revolves around establishing and maintaining the creative habit. John is to connect with other writers and talk about the joys and challenges of walking the walk, talking the talk, and writing the work of a writer in the 21st century. Monthly topics can be found online in the calendar on toliveandwrite.org and in the pinned post of the Facebook group, To Live and Write in Alameda.

Wednesday Write-In

Jay's Cafe

This meetup is for writing in the company of other writers. There is an important social element built in as we greet each other and make connections, but earbuds are the signal that you do not want to be disturbed--so be sure to bring them. This cafe has a decent selection of coffee drinks and food, with a handful of vegetarian options. If we are not inside, we are on the back patio enjoying a mix of sun and shade. 4-6 to a table, depending on where we sit.
