We are officially kicking off Token Engineering HK with two excellent guest speakers.

Martin is going to introduce us to the future of organizations: DAOs. Gnosis "dxDAO" is a next-generation DAO, designed to facilitate global, open trade. The first dApp governed by the dxDAO will be the DutchX, an open trading protocol for ERC20 tokens using the Dutch auction mechanism. It determines fair value for tokens, permits trading in low liquidity environments with no third party risk, and mitigates harmful trading practices like front-running.

Martin will walk us through his vision of DAOs, the dxDAO concept and the token mechanisms behind vote staking and decision making. We will also get great insights about his and his team's journey, including UX learnings, bug setbacks and the important discussion if Reputation can be a token.

Trent McConaghy will give us an introduction to why Token Engineering is needed, and the vision of a community effort to help grow this nascent domain. Trent will walk us through his own experience on token design practices for Ocean protocol and will share insight on the application of mechanism design and evolutionary algorithms to cryptonetworks.

Trent McConaghy is CTO of Ocean / BigchainDB. Before that, he did AI via two startups and a PhD, with emphasis on machine creativity and computer-aided design.
