Changeling: The Lost

The game is a Live Action Role-Playing game primarily inspired by tales of changelings from European folklore but includes elements of similar stories from around the world. While superficially similar to the original World of Darkness game Changeling: The Dreaming, Changeling: The Lost approaches the legends from a more traditional perspective of mortals kidnapped by Fae and eschews the past life angle that characterized its predecessor.
This is a theater LARP that follows the Mind's Eye rules from the White Wolf World of Darkness system.

The game is set in the World of Darkness, a fictional analog to the real world in which human beings unknowingly coexist with legendary monsters and other supernatural phenomena. The "Changelings" of the title are ordinary human beings who were kidnapped by the Fae and taken as slaves to their world (alternately known as Arcadia or Faerie). The player characters are changelings who have managed to escape their otherworldly captors and struggle through the barrier (known as the Hedge or the Thorns) that separates Faerie from Earth. The game focuses on the experiences of these changelings as they re-discover the world of their birth, try to cope with the changes they have undergone, and seek to evade recapture.

Description of Venue
The Freehold of the Beacon’s Hope is falling apart. Those sworn to the Freehold don’t care anymore for what happens to those who freshly escape, nor do they help anyone not sworn to the freehold avoid the dangers of the city. Those who are not sworn to the Freehold of the Beacon’s Hope face many dangers. They are hunted by Loyalists, and fall
prey to their own actions should they draw too much attention to themselves. There are also unsolved mysteries within the city that pose a danger to the Lost souls that live there. The Hedge in Toronto allows for travel to anywhere in the city, however, the hedge becomes much more dangerous when travelling to any region that is considered out side of the Toronto District (IE Scarborough, North York, and Etobicoke). Some Trods used by the existing Freehold are “safe” for travel, but most of the hedge is not maintained in anyway outside of those trods, and paths leading to hollows maintained by Changelings.

Visiting characters must be approved by the local ST before entering play. The local ST requests visiting players send a copy of their character sheet to [masked] for review before attending the game. All players that wish to use a mechanic that is not from the core book must have the original source available to use it in play.

Storytelling Mechanics
Resolving challenges with Negotiation is preferred.
Characters may enter game with Glamour that is 1/2 Clarity (rounded up), plus Wyrd, plus highest harvest.
Proxies will be allowed as per the Camarilla Addendum.
All requests for proxy into Dire Epiphany are subject to Storyteller refusal for any or no reason. Play in person is preferred.
Travel risks: Aside from Border Crossings, or Airport Delays, there are no serious risks to travel. Local Trods are usually clear and reasonably safe as long as you are alert.
Anywhere off the Trods, less so. There are no Trods to other Domains, so travel between Domains in the Hedge is impossible.

Visiting characters guidelines: ST notification requested though we will make every effort to accommodate visiting characters.

Downtime: Downtime actions equal to character's Resolve plus one can be filed during any one month. Additional actions from merits can also be used during that time. All downtime actions are to be submitted by e-mail to the ST Team. Responses will be provided by the start of the next month’s game. IE: Downtime actions filed for January, will be responded to by the February game.

Experience award guidelines, per month, per player: Experience earned per game:A possible total of 4xp per game can be earned as follows:
2xp for game attendance
1xp for being on time
1xp for being in costume
1xp may be awarded by STs for significant challenge provided by flaw or derangement
1xp may be awarded for Good role-play enhancing the game for other characters (decided by player nominations)
Experience awards for attending games are applied after the chapter.

Other experience awards:
Downtimes submitted by e-mail: 2xp per month submitted, must be submitted by the end of the month for full points. 1xp if submitted by the 7th of the next month.
A copy of your character sheet is required to be attached to your downtime for verification of applicable skills.
Downtimes submitted in person before games will not receive experience points, but will be taken into account for future responses.

Venue Specific Mechanics
As per national addenda, Wyrd may only be increased once every six months. If you do not have a copy of your character sheet available, you will only receive three glamour points at the start of game, and hard RP will not be allowed for your character during that session.

Hello all, New to Toronto and was interested in joining some of the world of darkness larps over here. I've already sent Emails to Changeling and Masquerade. However, I know literally four people in Toronto and none of them Lrpers (or Larpers). So, yeah, if anyone would like to show me the ropes here, it would be much appreciated.

Sure! It's honestly pretty simple. Have you decided on a character concept yet, or are you still thinking?

Changeling? I've never actually played Changeling, though I like the idea. So I don't really have a concept or general idea of what I can or can't play. I don't know the game well enough to make an informed decision. Though I got some info from Michelle, which helps.
