Very lively and rich discussion last night in the galleries on West Queen West. We were dazzled by the thoughtfully arranged historic and contemporary photographs we saw at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art in the Archive of Modern Conflict exhibition. EVERYONE should see this show and allow at least 45 minutes to take it all in.
Also, at Propeller Centre, DNA (aka Dan) Dodds gave us many valuable technical insights into his process but in the end, proved to be a deeply literate guy with the soul of a poet.
Most animated debate however arose at the Gladstone show by Philip Jodin, as we analyzed his photos of re-enactments of disasters and tragedies of the past decade, as interpreted by children under the age of 10. Another exhibition that really deserves to be seen and discussed.
The take-away message: GET OUT to Contact shows, they are worth the effort!

Hi Wanda, I'd love to have you bring a guest but it's come to my attention that some meetuppers have been rsvp'g for each other, so as not to miss the Walk. I KNOW that's not you, but that's why I decided not to have guests this time round.
