It's January 15th, it's cold outside, and hard to think of the summer already. But I am.

VERY IMPORTANT: Please read all this information over first before you RSVP.

We will return to Montreal for the 11th time, and enjoy once again the Montreal Jazz Festival..just in time for the 40th anniversary!! Last year, 22 members came on this trip, with memories forever.

The Montreal Jazz Festival (June 27-July 6) by most accounts is the largest Jazz Festival in the world, bringing about 2 million people out over the 10 days. (this includes 500,000 "tourists")

The full line-up is still months away, but I've already been given a small piece of the inside scoop of what the possibilities are. 2019 goal of 1000 concerts (2/3 of them are free), 15 concert halls, 10 outdoor stages.

Comments and reviews from 2018...

For those interested in this trip:

1) I provide 3 1/2 days of programming on the ground (Wednesday night, all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday, returning to Toronto on Sunday July 7th at your leisure)

2) You are responsible for your own travel (drive, bus, train, fly), and accommodations (friends, hostel, Airbnb, Hotel), and any insurance you may require. I do it this way because you each have your own individual budgets. We aim to Meet in Montreal about 4pm on Wednesday July 3rd.

The best rates and availability are for those who get on top of this sooner than later. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH. You can recoup my non-refundable fee by spending an hour on this, and getting it taken care of early (even though 6 months away, some space is already filled). Use Trivago or Kayak if looking for Hotel options...and/or Airbnb etc, or your travel specialist. There is no "wrong" place to stay in Montreal, but ideally you want to be about 1-2km from St.Catherine St/Place des Arts. Getting around..taxi, walk, bus..subway is excellent. Most the of the music we will hear is at Place des Arts on Ste Catherine.

3) The breakdown of the non-refundable fees to me are as follows: This is for the work that goes into putting these trips together from scratch..

-general Toronto Arts & Culture Meetup.com members ($150) First trip
-returning Meetup members ($125)

Once you firm your interest and commitment, you will have 3 days to send the funds to me via paypal or email interac (to this email address). I will then confirm you!

4) IMPORTANT NOTE: Last year we set a budget in advance on what we would spend on concert tickets/tours. We agreed $225 was to cover that cost. So we will stick to something similar for now. Once I firm up our concert shows in 3-4 months, that is when this ticket/tour money is DUE (and sent to me, as I have to credit card pre-pay for ALL the tickets/tours). It worked out very very well last year. I will give you 3-4 weeks notice for this transfer
