What we're about
Welcome to Toronto Asian Connection (TAC)! We connect English speakers with Asian expats from all over the world!
Learning English or an Asian language?
Curious about Asian culture?
Looking to make new friends?
Then this group is for you!
Join us every week to practice your English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese), and more!
How it works:
Our FREE weekly event runs every Wednesday evening. There'll be tables marked by country flags.
Wanna speak English? Go sit at the table with a Canadian flag!
Wanna speak Japanese? Sit at the table with a Japanese flag!
It's that simple!
We currently accommodate only speakers/learners of English and the three major East Asian languages: Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese). If you're interested in practicing other languages such as Vietnamese or Tagalog, let our organizers know! Our aim is to appeal to as many people as possible.
What to expect:
A great time meeting new people while having conversations in the language you're learning.
Live music starting 9pm.
A pool table.
What to keep in mind:
The venue is letting us use the space for free, so in return, please plan to have dinner at the restaurant and/or buy a few drinks for yourself or your new-found friends!
And most importantly...
Speak your mother tongue! Aside from practicing the language you're learning, we expect you to share your native language with others. This means from time to time, you may be asked to move to a table of your native language in order to help others. That way, everyone benefits! Our group is focused on language learning after all.
So what are you waiting for? Come check us out!
