What we're about

Looking for new members!

The Bloor West Classic Book Club are a friendly, fun, nerdy, (occasionally) hard-partying bunch of professionals ranging in age from late 20s to mid 40s who meet once a month to discuss some of the best and most important books, old and new, mostly but not always fiction, published from the past three thousand or so years. Due to the recent, sad, departures of some of our members from the city, we are looking to re-grow our ranks!

To give some idea of what we have been reading lately,
-Moby Dick by Herman Melville
-Watership Down by Richard Adams
-King Lear by Shakespeare
-Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
-A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
-The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

If you are interested in attending one of our upcoming monthly meetings, please reach out to Nicole at bwclassicbookclub@gmail.com

Serious inquiries only, please.

April Meeting to discuss We by Yevgeny Zamyatin

A core group of 5 of us having been meeting up monthly for 10+ years to discuss classic literature, and we are looking for some new members! We rotate hosting duties each month, and the host selects what we are reading that month. This month, we will be reading We by Yevgeny Zamyatin. We will have a fun and lively discussion about the book, the author, the themes and the context of the time in which it was written. We will all rate the book on a scale of 1-10 based on how much we enjoyed it. Host will serve appetizers and beverages, all you need to bring is the book! IMPORTANT: Please email Nicole at [masked] if you are interested in attending for further details.
