Toronto Electronic Music Producers .ıl.ıl.ıl
TORONTO ELECTRONIC MUSIC PRODUCERS Friday August 10 @ 7PM NOTE: We schedule meetings approximately every four weeks, on Fridays. we announce new meetups here and on facebook: |̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅| Welcome. All genres welcome, non-musicians are also welcome to listen and participate, the more ears the better! We chose producer's music to be played randomly and give approximately 10 minutes to all participants. Music has to be your own! Read on ... We meet to discuss all matters related to electronic music and to listen to each others' music. All genres of electronic music are welcome. We listen to each others' music, provide feed back, speak generally on all matters related to electronic music, including popular and obscure technology and software. Some members play finished pieces while others play works in progress. Sometimes, members play live. We have a video projector. Its an old school video projector, it supports VGA and DVI. (If you use anything else and want to use projector, bring appropriate cable: for example hdmi to dvi). We are a totally non-profit group, We are artists and engineers dedicated to music. Musical diversity is the word that comes to mind when thinking of our group. We encourage openness in regards to genres. The term producer means different things to different people, in electronic music it is often used to describe the person that makes the final product, the music creator and engineer. We are often wearing "different hats" playing the instruments, arranging the music and creating the final mix down. Many members are "traditional" musicians making electronic music, producers and/or DJ's. Some members are just getting started, others are seasoned pros. There are a lot of collaboration and networking opportunities. It is fine to attend to listen and participate without sharing music if you are interested in electronic music. Members have and often do bring in gear, though majority of the time we have music on usb or laptop. We structure the meeting so that every one that wants to share music gets a chance. We randomly select the order by putting names in a bowl, and we divide the time so everyone gets an opportunity to share. We insist members PLAY THEIR OWN MUSIC. Playing your personal playlist off your mp3 player is not allowed! Nothing against playing a clip of another artist (popular or not), but it should only be done as part of a relevant comparison/discussion, and again, only as a "clip" ... we don't like imposing too many rules, but this one is important to enforce. Lastly, we ask that the audience try not to be disruptive by talking or making other noise during music, whether live or being played back from file. |̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅| WHERE TO MEET -@-@- We try to meet outside the building, front entrance way, 15 minutes to the start time. Don't panic if you can't find us at first, we will find you if you are lost! |̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅| LOGISTICS if you are LATE (Try not to be, you never know what you will miss! ) [{-_-}] ZZZzz zz z... The party room is located physically separate from the main building. From a bird's eye view, it is located north of the main building. If one was facing the front door of the main building, the party room would be behind the building. If one was to look to the right (east), one would see a parking garage door entrance way. If one was to walk in that direction, pass the garage door, make a left (north) and walk toward the parking area, you would see the building that is the party room tucked behind. Bang on the window, take a peak inside and you will see us there. Text or call Lenny at[masked] if you run into complications. .ılılıllllılılı. INTERNET /// ,/\,/\,/\,/\,/\,/\,o There is typically internet available in the party room, but there is no guarantee made by the management that it will be working. Having said that, we have been at 100% up-time so far (knock on wood). We do take internet for granted, but you never know, one day we might be surprised to not find it working. Its always good to have your music saved somewhere in case we are offline. .ılılıllllılılı. PARKING ∙،°. ˘Ô≈ôﺣ » » » If you need parking, there is FREE parking available on a first come basis at the building - both outside the party room directly, and also 12 spots underground.
