This list was soon filled up after we opened up more spots. Please RSVP at the waiting list and as spots open up you will be moved to the list of confirmed members.
You are also welcome to RSVP at the event list below (Same event as above...) if you don't mind standing (when there are not enough chairs) or sitting on tables. We'll try to get more chairs from other rooms, but cannot guarantee that you will have a chair to sit down if you are in that list.
The chairs are reserved to members who confirmed at this list, but after 7:30 pm they will be open to members who confirmed at the event list below. So please be on time.
Location: North York Civic Center - Committee Room #2
Presenter: Hannah Wei
Abstract and Company Profile:
My startup company, Vizualize.me, ( http://vizualize.me ) will be presented at the upcoming meetup this Friday. I will share some soon-to-be-released features, and would love to hear your feedback on them.
We're a 5-month old company based in downtown Toronto. The core product is a web app that turns resumes into an infographic in one click. The vision is to transform a boring resume into something more personal and relevant by presenting it in a visual format. We launched beta just over a month ago and have about 100k users on our site. Currently we are at a stage where of developing paid features.
Wondering what the answer to these questions might be?
- Is my project worth pursuing?
- Where can I look for funding?
- What are the challenges of bringing a new product or service to the market?
- Where can I find like-minded partners or skilled people?
This is the 2nd meeting to a series of meetings that will follow over the next few months which will cover the basics of entrepreneurship in an informal way. Based on the feedback from previous meetings the following rules are set:
- Mingle time will be at least 1 hour and can extend to the closing. North York Civic Centre closes at 9:30 PM.
I encourage those presenting or not to bring business cards, product brochures, demo of products, information sheets, etc...to give out to members. We will only have two presenters for the meeting who are not chosen yet. Please send me a quick e-mail with a description of what you would like to present so that I can add you to the list.
If a project is presented to the group we will do a game play where all the members can show an interest in the project by promising to pitch in a fake amount. It would be nice to see which project wins more fake money from the group. Sort of like Dragon's Den.
Parking available on Beecroft Rd and on Park Home Ave.
Location is very close to 401 and Sheppard and accessible by TTC services
