Meditation is the key and central practice of spirituality and for the mastery of life. Much progress can be made when it is practiced daily. Sometimes people will enter the meditative state without realising they are meditating or practicing meditation. However, its regular conscious practice is indispensable for our maturation and well-being.
We will cover many practical aspects of meditation including some common and not-so-common questions. What is the purpose of meditation? What is the best way to meditate or do the different methods each have their particular value? How much meditation is needed each day? How can I find the time to meditate? Can meditation help the healing process for both physical and mental health concerns? Is it okay if my mind wanders and is that part of the process? Is meditation mentioned in sacred texts? Is it related to prayer? Are there other practices valuable to do along with meditation? Can meditation provide important insights and answers that are hard to obtain by other means?
We will discuss these and other questions, do some meditation exercises, and consider how the practice of meditation transforms and enriches our lives.
