Toronto Survivalism Meetup Group Pages

Welcome! This meetup is for people who want to become more self-sufficient so they can thrive in any situation.

The Toronto Survivalism Group (TSG) is a place where members can learn new skills in real time with real people and build their own community. Want to know what we're up to? Some of our past events include:

  • Native medicine and edible plant walks
  • Gardening and food preserving workshops
  • Wilderness first aid and prevention
  • Urban survival techniques
  • Wilderness survival and primitive skills
  • Tracking and nature awareness
  • Navigation, knots and other useful things
  • For MORE have a look at our past events under the "Meetups" heading

Another purpose for this group is to help people develop a profound appreciation for the simple things in life that are, and always have been, all around and readily available to us.

Whether you are experienced in this area or are a newbie and want to learn more, you are welcome here. An important part of self-sufficiency is the community - the people around you who can help fill in the gaps in your knowledge and skill. You don't need to do everything yourself, that's what community is for.

** If you are an educator or course leader in any area related to our group activities please contact the organizers to find out how you can partner with us. We would be thrilled to promote your work to a wider audience. Please note that we do not permit self-promotion of any kind on the site without prior approval.

This is a fun, positive and open-minded group of people. In order to ensure everyone feels comfortable, regardless of how much or little they know, we ask that our group members treat each other with respect. The TSG attracts people from various backgrounds and often with very different opinions and ideas and we welcome a courteous debate. Anyone who is unable to honour this diversity in others will be removed from the group.

Its very important to read all of the introductory information before you get started so you know what to expect. Please read our Rules and Guidelines. If this sounds like the kind of group you're interested in then sign up! We look forward to learning with you. It's also imperative that you read our legal disclaimer and find out more about our annual donation and event fees.

Thank you for reading, I look forward to meeting you at one of our upcoming events.

- Shane
