Choose from a wide selection of plants and take advantage of free expert gardening advice, too.

Note the TBG Annual Plant Sale runs for four days: May 9 and 10, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. | May 11 and 12, 10 a.m to 5 p.m.

Plant aficionados know that Paul Zammit, the Toronto Botanical Garden’s Nancy Eaton Director of Horticulture, scours the province in search of the, most interesting plants for the TBG’s much anticipated yearly Plant Sale. “Some of the new and hard-to-find plants we’ll be offering this year include Geranium ‘Azure Rush’, Helleborus × hybridus ‘Sparkling Diamond’ and Agave schidigera ‘Shira ito no Ohi’ (Queen of the White Thread),” said Zammit. “I’m very excited about the quality of these outstanding plants, but supplies are strictly limited.”

Location: Toronto Botanical Garden, 777 Lawrence Avenue East (on the southwest corner of Lawrence Avenue and Leslie Street in Edwards Gardens). Free parking

Choose from a wide selection of hardy perennials, annuals, natives, herbs and vegetables, shrubs, vines, succulents, small trees and other coveted plants. Unsure about what to plant where? Toronto Master Gardeners will be on hand throughout the sale to offer friendly free gardening advice. In addition, staff and volunteers will be available to help you get your purchases to your car.

TBG members enjoy a 10 per cent discount on their purchases and a pre-sale shopping day—where many of the rarest beauties could be snapped up. Memberships start at just $45, and may be purchased on the spot. The TBG’s Plant Sale is one of the many fundraising initiatives of the Toronto Botanical Garden, a registered educational charity.
