Hi everyone! So we had a super successful Edible and Medicinal plant hike at High park yesterday, (Monday) and we went through at-least about 20-25 plants in detail over about 2 hours.
Being in the city coincidentally enough there is such a huge diversity of plants usually greater than in "fully wild" settings like you would get up North.
This Thursday we will cover even more plants, all the ones we didn't get to as well as the others we did.
I have a Diploma in Environmental Technology and have been learning about nature for about 2 decades.
You will be able to walk away after the hike being able to ID at-least 5 plants and will have pictures and lists of many more by the end of the hike. There are washrooms in the park.
Try to bring a hat, definitely a water bottle, and decent walking shoes.
We will also get to see our surprise plant, one that is my favourite! :D
