Needs a location
We meet at Coronation Park, head along the Mark Goodman trail until Humber River, and then up the Humber River Valley to where the recreational trail ends, and back again. Our goal pace for this ride will be 18 to 20 km/h. This is a relatively fast pace for people who don't ride distances often, and a gentle one for those who do.
If you are wondering how fast 18km/h is, I have created this post that lets you test yourself (http://www.meetup.com/Toronto-Bike-Meetup/boards/thread/7204509). It is worthwhile to find out what speed you are comfortable riding at, so that you know what rides are appropriate for you.
Plan on the whole outing, including rest stops, to take just under 3 hours.
There is an optional early turn-around point for those not wishing to tackle the Humber River valley. At the Humber River bridge a portion of the group will head back, which would make your trip a total of 11.4km, and you should be done in just over an hour.
In the past I've waited a bit to make sure all participants were there before heading off with the group. This time, we're leaving at 6:40 sharp, so please aim to arrive as close to 6:30 as possible. (Before the ride is a great time to get to know the people you'll be riding with a little bit.)
The meeting point is indicated fairly precisely on this map (http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Up-Humber-River). It is on Remembrance drive (this is a street not normally open to car traffic) at the west end of the boardwalk at Coronation Park.
Hope to see you all there!
