it was a great time of the year to get the dachshunds together. Tigger and Moka have not really been out for a walk in the last 10 days because of the cold, so they had a great time.

Just wondering about the Meet Up...is this an off leash event or do they need to be kept on leash? I noticed the facility is having a small dog off leash later on...thanks!

Just wondering, what is the $6 fee for? I understand someone has to clean up after the dogs but what if you don't have a dog and want to essentially "watch"?
    sorry just bit confused...
    Thx! :)

Hi Xavier, there is a charge for the PawsWay facility $200.00 + tax, as well there are fees to run a Meetup US $150.00/ year, so there are charges for all Meetups to cover our costs to run events. As an FYI, we all clean up after our own dogs should they have an accident indoors. Regarding wanting to essentially "watch," I believe you mentioned in your intro, when you joined, that you wanted to talk to dachshund owners before deciding to get one yourself. Hope this clarifies, please don't hesitate to ask if not. I think you would find that with most Meetups where there are costs associated with the events, members pay their way.

Thanks for the explanation Janice. I should've been more specific and asked it it was the same if one is not taking a dog, but I understand what you're getting at.
      See you all tomorrow! :)

We now have 4 dachshunds (I know, they are like potato chips). We still have Jakie and Lola (now 6 and 5). We have a new red longhaired male named Mackie and a black and tan short haired female name Kenzie. Both are just over 1 year old. The whole clan is looking forward to reconnecting with our dachshund buddies on Sunday.

Haven't been to a meetup in awhile! Frieda is so excited, and she doesn't even know it yet!!!

This will be the first one that Stella and I attend. She loves to meet dogs her size or smaller, and she's always extra excited to meet a dachshund -- it's like she knows they're her kind.

We love these great Dachshund meetups! So many adorable doxies and their nice parent(s). Pawsway at the Harbourfront is my favorite place too :D I'm really looking forward to it!
