We did it before, we're doing it again! An entire anthology of writing from talented Toronto specfic writers, created all in one afternoon!

The theme will be voted on and then announced on this page. Make sure to vote ASAP! We will announce the theme in Mid-July. The voting form is here:

For preparation, you can do all the brainstorming, plotting, outlining, notes, mind-mapping, world-building, research, and character sketching you like. But all the writing (and editing!) for the final product will be done on that day.

Any length of story is okay. Last time we averaged around 2000 words per person.

Use whatever writing implements you prefer. (I suspect there will be about 25 of us, so we probably can't guarantee enough outlets for laptops).

The actual writing will be divided into several timed "sprints" during which we just output words as fast as we can. Sprints are separated by short breaks.

There will be a couple rounds of editing, but authors get the final say. When you are editing someone else's work, don't erase words from the original. Don't bother with big structural suggestions (there isn't time to rewrite the story). Just look for sentence level changes and simple fixes, like typos and grammatical errors.

The finished product, typed up and edited, has to be submitted the day of the event, before midnight. There will be a simple online form provided for that purpose.

If it turns out you don't want your story in the compilation, it doesn't have to be. Or you could use a pseudonym.

The final stories will be compiled, formatted, and published on Amazon. Everyone involved gets a copy of the finished eBook. Here is the Sanctuary anthology we made: Here is the Colony anthology we made:

If you have any questions/comments/concerns/etc, please ask. The more things we can clarify in advance, the smoother it will run on the day of the event.

This is to be a joint event with the Toronto Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Group:
