Toronto Oculus Rift / VR Meetup : Immersive films and the Oculus Rift + Demos

The next Toronto Oculus Rift Meetup will be on March 5th at the "The Handle Bar" in Kensington Market where we can share, discuss, explore and debate the new potential of the Oculus Rift.

TALK 1 : Immersive films and the Oculus Rift.

Will McMaster is going to talk about the enormous potential for immersive films on the Rift, as well as explain some theories and challenges behind making them.

TALK 2 : Oculus VR & WebGL - Verold Studio

In this presentation Justin Holdstock and Tim Strah will introduce the Verold Engine and show you how to create and share an interactive 3d web application for Oculus VR. From empty project to working game that you can send to your friends. This is fresh new technology, launching at jQueryTO in a couple of weeks, so come out and get a sneak peak.

Technology : Verold Studio is a visual editor that empowers creative teams to build next generation web experiences, for desktop and mobile. One of the great features of the platform is the ability to define reusable components, for data visualization using WebGL/Three.js, for processing big data in the browser, and for interfacing with hardware.

Oculus Rift Demos ( Please Bring Your Rift ^_^ )

If you own an Oculus Rift dev kit, we invite you to bring it along and, if you have created or are working on unique games or apps, you will be able to present them to fellow VR fans.

I really appreciate people bringing their Rifts down to the last event.  Next event it would be great if people could bring their Oculus Rift's again!  There will be more room for other peoples Rifts and its always exciting to see what every one is working on.  Really great to see so many people excited about the Oculus Rift / VR.
