Palos Verdes Loop Ride
We plan to gather from 930 to 10am at Dock 52. 10am at Ballona Creak Bridge crossing the Marina Del Ray inlet. For those of us driving to the start of the ride (most of us) there is free non metered at Dock 52. This will be where the ride starts and ends. We will plan to have lunch at the spot before we end the ride back at the dock. We will leave Dock 52 no later than 10:00 SHARP. Get here with enough time to be ready to roll right at 10:00. I (Pete) will be there a little early to help anyone that may need some assistance getting tires pumped up or checking your bike over. Please reach out to me here ahead of time if you have any questions, it will save time on the day of the ride. PRO TIP - Bring a D-Lock or other bike lock, and lock it around a meter near the Spot, this way you don’t need to lug your heavy lock around on the entire ride, but can have peace of mind with a locked bike while you snack on your tasty burrito. We will ride down the beach & do a loop around Palos Verdes. For those who are not experienced cyclists please do not ride around Palos Verdes, just turn around at the end of the beach meet us back at The Spot in Hermosa Beach. The loop around Palos Verdes is with traffic, and some of the roads have active construction. Here is a STRAVA link of the exact ride we will go on. https://www.strava.com/activities/591317925 Multi-geared road bikes, hybrid, or mountain bikes, are highly recommended, if you have any questions about your fitness level, cycling experience level, or equipment / bike selection, please reach out to me ahead of time. These lessons stink to learn the hard way. Single speeds or beach cruisers are not the right bikes for this ride. Again reach out to me with any Q's. PLEASE READ OUR BASIC RULES before coming out!!!! https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2543069/Rules%20Carb%20Squad.pdf

What we're about

This is a meetup for Vegans, Raw Vegans, Rawtill4 Vegans, Any kind of vegans who like to ride bikes. Right now the Tour's De Veg will be quarterly, but will grow in quantity & likely spread all over the world. Our 1st Tour De Veg was held with Vegan Drinks August 15, 2015 (and a preliminary one the week before for Ciclavia). We decided to make Tour De Veg its own meetup as the cross over being drinking vegans and biking vegans was very low :) Hopefully we'll catch a few 100! Endless epic rides around Los Angeles that involve safe bike paths & awesome vegan stops!
