• Tour of our virtual African Village (and brunch!)- online event

    Greetings all!

I hope that you have been able to experience some sun these days…

Have you been itching to break away from all of this oppressive tension we are facing in these times? Or are you yearning to prolong the potential for more inner peace and stillness?

Many off us who have wanted to create safe spaces for us to live with folks who have shared values have envisioned what is called an intentional community.

In line with African centered values and an adherence to our sacred spiritual traditions, I have created a virtual intentional community- Ile Sakhu Ebewa- and I am inviting all of you to join me for an online tour of our new village!

TO JOIN MEETING: RSVP and you will receive the link.

If we are to truly establish ourselves as a people, having a place of our own will allow us to walk the path and restore our essential practices. This is a potential first step!

Please try to wear white or traditional clothing as we walk on these (virtual) sacred grounds and begin our journey. You will see pictures of the lands and the houses and shared spaces. Some folks from my twice-a-week circle (the Ebewa) have already selected homes within the village. YOU CAN AS WELL! (Also feel free to reach out about our group.) You can also join us for brunch by “sharing” (showing) the vegan dish you will be eating as we meet!

I hope that you will all be inspired by this vision. It is time for us to build a community of shared values where we can feel safe to be our African Selves and fully embrace our legacy! We will also discuss the forming of a village-within-a-village network right here in NYC!

  • 7-Day Challenge: Your Spiritual Retreat- Online event

    Needs a location

Online event- RSVP to receive the login information.

    Alafia family!

Do you feel inspired to heed the call of the ancestors and revolutionize your spiritual practice?

You may never have this chance again.
New York has never been this quiet.
The ancestors have created the conditions for us to take a good hard look at our lives and contemplate ways to create radical change. Many things are being changed around you. Now it is time to catapult your own, inner trance-formation.

    During this challenge you will:
Tune-in with the group twice a day to do our daily prayers and affirm our intentions.
Do your guided altar work to deepen your connection to the ancestors.
Set your intentions for this “New York shut-in” period and verbalize the steps you pledge to take to honor your spiritual path.
I will help you to clarify the ways in which your consciousness can begin to be transformed.
You will also be given prescriptions for cleansing baths to further enhance your journey.

These methods have repeatedly yielded profound change across the globe.
So let us call on the ancestors who want so much for us to reach our highest potential!

  • Online event: Ancestral Prayer Circle

    Needs a location

This is an online event. Please RSVP for login details.

    Alafia family!

Does anyone feel inspired to transform all of this fear and distress into light and opportunity?

Let us come together in prayer and meditation and call on the ancestors and make this a time of healing and awakening.

We will do prayers for all of the living creatures around the globe, and set our own intentions for spiritual growth.

This is a time to experience what is possible when we align our energies with the divine on a group level and command the light forces to be made stronger! This method had repeatedly yielded profound change across the globe. This is our deepest power to be instruments of change. We can overturn the forces that wish to oppress and harm others.

So let us call on the ancestors who want so much for us to reach our highest potential! And let us send our energies towards this time of healing for the planet, when things are being slowed down and the air and water have been given a much-needed break from so much of the pollution and toxic “production”.

And for those who wish, let us set our intentions for this “shut-in” period and verbalize the steps we pledge to take to honor our spiritual path.

And finally, some of you may wish to join me for our upcoming free 7-day challenge which will include daily meditations, altar work, baths, prayers, etc. This is an unprecedented opportunity to transform your consciousness! More on that on Wednesday.
    Or visit: https://www.sakhu.com/events.html

In the name of Olodumare let it be so!

  • Ancestral Messages Concerning COVID-19: An ONLINE EVENT

    Needs a location

NOTE: This is an online event. When you RSVP you will receive the conference link and password.

    Clearly these are unusual times...
First the virus, now the lockdown!

In these times, do we even think to turn to the ancestors for guidance?
What happens when we turn off the news and expand beyond the physical realm?

Join me and learn what the ancestors have to say about COVID-19.

The ancestors have decoded this “virus” for me, and delineated the immense transformation that is possible as new portals are being opened.

So let us gather and hear what has been shared over the past few weeks concerning a larger plan and greater possibilities: What specifically are we being called to see and what are we being called to do?

Why are things unfolding in this particular way? The ancestors have described exactly what is being brought into being.
As things are being torn down, a new, specific path is being built.

There will also be some time for the group to share insights and experiences as well.

I look forward to sharing this with you all!
And I look forward to hearing from you as well.

    -Ekenchole Seshat

  • Sacred Journey with the Ancestors

    Sakhu Healing Arts Center

    Greetings beloveds! Happy winter solstice!

UPDATE: So far we have 27 people signed up for this event on eventbrite and through other sources!

I wanted to invite this meetup to join a powerful community of spiritual aspirants to share the inspiring spiritual work that is being done in our midst! This is your chance to honor and learn about these sacred journeys and receive messages from the spirits themselves. Our Sunday circle just completed a year-long journey of transformation, with some joining us over recent weeks.

This Saturday January 18th, join me for an exploration of four divine journeys into the Ancestral Realms:

I have helped to guide one woman to communicate with Oya (a Yoruba Orisa). She is now receiving guidance and protection to heal her past and step into her spiritual gifts.

Another woman is navigating powerful abilities that allow her to receive messages throughout the day, uncovering ancient spiritual technologies.

One man is stepping into his gifts, communicating with the energies of the elements and the animal spirits of the ocean that appeared during our recent reading.

In accordance with another reading, a woman has done a ritual here with Ra and Ast (of the Kemetic/ancient Egyptian tradition) honoring the divine feminine.

I look forward to allowing you to partake of this sacred work with the ancestors! If possible, please wear white or some light colored or traditional clothing and feel free to bring altar items to keep beside you.

I look forward to seeing you all!

    Film synopsis:
Opening Night film, Ali’s Comeback: The Untold Story, is a fascinating documentary that recounts the unsung saga that broke the boxing’s blacklist status of Muhammad Ali, the champion who said “no” to war and racism.

An unusual group of people came together in the most unlikely location to end Muhammad Ali’s exile from boxing. The year is 1970. It has been three and a half years since Muhammad Ali was stripped of his title. Convicted of draft evasion. Threatened with imprisonment. Banned In all 50 states, he is unable to work in the field for which he had no equal. The wide door on his illustrious career seems to be closing. But in Atlanta, Georgia, an astute white businessman, a visionary Black senator, and a progressive white mayor came together to make it possible for Ali to resume his amazing boxing career.

I thought I could just quickly post a link about this but I don't see anything about it online! Very interesting...

I just wanted to let everyone know that today (Saturday) is the Annual Celebration of the Haitian Revolution in Prospect Park. I'm sure many of you know of the significance of how spirituality was used throughout this struggle. It is all day with workshops and a powerful ceremony in the evening. During last year's ritual I saw (the Lua/Orisa) Ogun and received a beautiful message!

This is an all day event from now until 10PM. I'll be there after 6PM- still with my Green and brown head wrap from Back Vegfest! The ritual portion is in the evening, perhaps around 7PM, after a day of talks and workshops. Enter the park on the Southeast corner (Prospect & Ocean Aves.) SEE MAP at . Look at the bottom, right-hand corner of the Park on the map and you'll see a huge lake!
