Since the 1960s, I have usually been part of a group of people who love folk music and get together periodically, usually monthly, to share music. Not as performer/audience, but as equal sharing as we go around the room with almost everyone singing something. When other members know the song they sing/play along. More emphasis on singing than playing, but instruments are welcome. There are many traditions in folk music. Some of my favorites are English, Scottish, Appalachian, and other American traditional music, with a special interest in the Child ballads. We can have a fairly broad focus, but let's emphasize traditional over new-written songs. I am in Lansdale, so we will meet around here rather than center city or south of the city.
