Never hiked before? Need to ease yourself into hiking adventures?
Let's get out for an evening spring walk while helping our mental health with some free outdoor therapy and body positive culture (we are a "no diet talk" group - every body is a worthy body) . An introduction to the Trail Dames and what it means to be a paid member will also be provided.

Trail Description: This is very short trail. Although you can hear civilization in the background and the airport, you can find some peace along this trail. This trail starts in a meadowy type terrain by the pond then diverts into the woods. We will start by going southeast along the red trail, a quick hop on the blue trail, and back to the red trail. There are several foot bridges, a long bridge that goes across the pond, mud sections, and a few stream crossings. There is minimal elevation gain. There
Just a quick note: If you are an All Trails user, the map is drastically incorrect. I found out the hard way.

What to bring?: A positive attitude!!! WATER...hydration is important even though this is a very easy hike. A 24oz water bottle is acceptable for this trail. SNACKS...if you want. BACKPACK(Optional)...packed with the 10 essentials (https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/ten-essentials.html) to practice for more remote locations. APPROPRIATE CLOTHING...layers are best. No jeans. Moisture wicking material is best. Dress for being outside in upstate NY in spring. HIKING SHOES: hiking boots are best but sneakers are also safe for this trail since it is flat. I wouldn't recommend brand new shoes or shoes you want to keep pristinely clean. Mud will happen, since it is spring in NY. I would strongly recommend waterproof footwear. I wore my sneakers but my feet were soggy pretty quickly because of the wetland area.

Directions/Parking Info: Please enter the address in the direction section. We will meet in the parking lot with the fire hydrant, but feel free to use either parking lot.

Cancelation Policy: We will go rain or shine (hopefully shine)! If there is a need to cancel or reschedule, it will be done by 12pm on Thursday. Please, update your RSVP if it changes. I will always send out an email the night before the hike, so please read it for any updates. Also, make sure your email notifications are turned on.

Who Can Attend? Reminder, the Trail Dames are for women 18+. Please leave young humans and humans of the male variety at home. Household pets are not allowed on this hike.

The Trail Dames Practice Leave No Trace. Laura will provide a brief overview at the beginning of the hike. For more information: https://lnt.org (https://lnt.org/)
