Lookout Mountain Circumference Trail & Pool Party at Nina's

This hike is rated EASY.

Come out for mid-day hike at Lookout Mountain then caravan to Nina's nearby for food, drink and a dip in the pool! This trek will take us around the #308 trail in a nice big loop. There are definitely some uphill climbs, so while it's rated easy, first-timers will have to work it a bit.  The pace will be moderate with a few rest stops along the way.

Bring lots of water, snacks, sunscreen, a camera and your bathing suit.  Sturdy hiking boots are recommended.  Please RSVP and tell us what you can bring to snack on or drink at the pool party.

DISTANCE: 3.4 miles roundtrip
ELEVATION GAIN: 250 feet more than once
TRAIL STYLE: Loop
DURATION: 1.5 hours
DOGS: Not this time since we will be spending the afternoon at the pool
FACILITIES: Bathroom and water fountain
WEBSITE: Trail Map
DIRECTIONS: From the intersection of Cave Creek Road and Sharon Drive, go West on Sharon to 18th Street; head North on 18th Street until it ends. The park entrance is on your right-hand side. Google maps may lead you astray especially if you approach from the north, so follow these directions as you get close!

Hi! I see a spot opened up and I can join you for the hike tomorrow. Problem: It is too hot for me to hike right now. Is it okay to just come to the party? If so, what is the address?

Debbie, you need to meet us at the trail head. The location is 14441 N 18th St, Phoenix, AZ. Follow the directions listed above. We should be finished with the hike between 1:30 and 2:00

Thank you, Lonnie. I'm going to try to come, but please don't count on me now. Something came up that I have to deal with immediately.

Hi! I would like to come to the pool party, but not hike. Is that okay? I get heat stroke. It's just too hot for me to hike right now. I would like to meet everyone, though! Please let me know.

Sure come to the Pool Party. I'll create a couple more spots. I can't say exactly when we will return from the hike. I would expect 1-1/2 - 2 hours for the hike.

Nina asked me to remind everyone this is a "potluck". Please let me know what you can bring to the pool party. I know there will be homemade cheese cake for sure!

Hi Seni , I'll make some cheese pastry, not cheese cake, they are sweet, too, but is not a cheese cake, so if you would like to bring a rum cake , whatever you decide to bring, it's fine with me.
