***This is a new location because the Visitor Center is now closing at dusk***
This hike is rated EASY, however, the trail is rocky.
Come out for an evening hike from the Dollar Tree Parking Lot, SW corner of 7th St and Thunderbird (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=13206+N+7th+Street%2C+Phoenix%2C+AZ). This is an easy hike and perfect for beginners or if you'd just like to do an easy one for a change. The trails are relatively flat with some gentle ups and downs, and one short but steep hill. We'll leave the Dollar Tree parking lot heading West to the dam then join the #306 trail and follow it to the #100 trail in a big loop returning through the Visitor's Center around the mountain finally ending back at Dollar Tree Parking Lot, SW corner of 7th St and Thunderbird (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=13206+N+7th+Street%2C+Phoenix%2C+AZ). You're encouraged to bring snacks, cameras, and must bring at least 1+ liter of water per person and sturdy hiking footwear. You should also bring a flashlight and/or a headlamp since we'll be in the dark on this hike.
