East Side King at The Grackle

East Side King is the creation of Paul Qui, of Uchi and Uchiko fame, and also featured on several television shows, including Top Chef. They have three trailers, all with different menus. For this event, we will be at their location at The Grackle neighborhood bar.


The menu for this location was recently refreshed, and it looks quite tasty. See the link below for details, but some options include: Pork Katsu Sandwich (panko-fried, all-natural pork belly, kewpie mayo, karashi mustard, served with Japanese eggplant salad), Ssam (katsu pork or katsu beef tongue, romaine wraps, rice, kewpie mayo, kimchee), Pork Shoulder Steak (grilled & glazed pork shoulder, rice, slow poached egg, sweet chili sauce, sunomono pickled veggies, grilled green onion), Broccoli Pops (grilled broccoli glazed with sweet chili miso), Grapefruit and Avocado Ssam (seared avocado, grapefruit, grilled mini onigiri, grapefruit vinaigrette, mint, picked ginger)... and much more.


Assuming the weather is chilly, we will grab tables inside to eat, drink, be merry, and stay warm. If the weather is nice, we will grab some seats on the patio.

    Although it is cloudy, it looks like the temperature will be quite pleasant this evening. For any first-timers attending, I will post another comment here when I arrive at the Grackle tonight to let you know where we will be sitting (probably the patio). Look for the gang of people and ask anyone if they are with the meetup group. We should be pretty easy to spot; most of us have pictures on our profiles here. See y'all tonight!
