Snowshoe Deadhorse Creek Trail

Elevation Start/End: 9,032'/10,260'

Estimated Hike Time: ~5-6 hours

Level: Intermediate


Carpool:

Meet at the Wooly Mammoth Park-n-Ride (Section BB, across from Conoco) in Morrison at 8:50.


Directions:

Take I-70 west to exit #232, to U.S. Hwy. 40. Travel approximately 28 miles, passing through the towns of Empire, Berthoud Falls and Winter Park into Fraser. Take a left on 72. The road forks on the other side of the railroad bridge. Take a right (Fraser Valley Parkway) and follow this road to the first stop sign and then a left on 73. Continue for 4.4 miles. Deadhorse Loop trailhead is located at the Fraser Experimental Forest Station.


Extras:


Bring snacks, water, extra layers, sunscreen, snowshoes/traction devices and hiking poles. Additionally, please bring cash for splitting fuel costs.
