Hey Chuck...If I'm planning on driving myself and Karen +1 can you fit me in? Please :)

Sure! The rangers "suggest" a max party size of 12. If you want to join us, feel free. Where will you join us? The best bet is at the 512 P&R. The next best place is at Longmire, where I will ask the rangers which is the safest place to snowshoe. I suspect that the answer will be Paradise, but I won't know until I ask.

It will be warm on Saturday, so we'll snowshoe at Paradise (5500 feet elevation). We'll gain some more altitude by heading upslope to Panorama Point. That's 5 miles round-trip with a 1300 foot elevation gain (max elevation 6800 feet). I know from experience, that the view from there is *AWESOME*!

I've decided. This hike is most definitely on. So what if it'll be too warm for snowshoeing? The sun will be out, and Mt. Rainier is always beautiful in sunshine! Who knows? Maybe we will still be able to snowshoe. In my mind, that's optional. :)

If snowshoeing won't pan out, are you thinking of doing a hike instead?

Yeah. It will be a sunny day, so I don't want to waste it.

The long range weather forecast does not look promising. The temperature is supposed to be in the mid-50s most of the week at Paradise (that's at 5000 feet elevation!). That would not be fun, because I don't think that anybody wants to snowshoe in slush.
I'll keep an eye on the forecast, and will make a go/no go decision later in the week.

Hi Chuck, I was wondering if it will be possible to share a ride along with you. Thanks, Sam

No problem at all. I expect to give a ride to you, Prakash, and Leo. It's weird that all 3 of you RSVPed for this hike. I'm not complaining; it's just an observation. :)
