You may have been told that yoga can help you heal your... PTSD... Back pain... Chronic stress... Depression... Anxiety... etc... But the idea of going to a regular studio class is terrifying. It may not feel safe or comfortable for a variety of reasons. This space is for you. I understand the concerns that come up when many people consider doing yoga, and am specifically trained to offer a type of yoga that is suitable for every body type, that is safe for trauma survivors, and that is profoundly healing for body, mind and spirit. Our bodies are powerful tools for healing, but we need a safe, supportive environment to start connecting to that power. Drop in $15; 5-class pack $60 Alexi Neal is a Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and Yoga Therapist (PRYT-600) who specializes in transforming pain and trauma into powerful strength and wisdom. Her approach in group classes uses physical shapes, movement, breath and meditation as tools to help us discover our own inner resources. It's not about the shapes, not about the flexibility- but rather about using these tools to learn about ourselves and create a fulfilling life.

I Am Not Broken: 5 Ways to Transform Trauma

Sam Gary Branch Library

**RSVP on Eventbrite required** "Do yoga and meditate. Take care of yourself and you'll feel better." "Just breathe through it." "Talk it out with a friend." "Stop making yourself a victim- just change the way you're thinking about it." "You can handle it on your own." If you've experienced trauma, chances are some well-meaning friends, loved ones, or even doctors have said a version of these statements. You might even believe them to be true. Thinking this way may have brought you some level of relief, but more likely it has caused you pain. In this event, we turn these statements on their heads, addressing 5 real, profound ways to start working with your trauma; not just to heal the pain you're in, but to thrive as your highest self. This event is for you if: You're ready to shift your perspective on healing your past... You're tired of running in the hamster wheel of self-care and seeing no results... You're prepared to step into the work necessary to move forward into your best life!
