Enjoy a once in a lifetime stay at Transylvania’s Ice Hotel and absorb some of Romania’s most picturesque medieval towns on a whirlwind adventure. After one night in the vibrant capital city of Bucharest, we will be whisked away into the heart of rural Romania through the plains of the Transylvanian countryside visiting the decadent Peles Castle on the way. In Brasov, we will enjoy a leisurely stroll around charming cobbled streets, stopping to warm up in one of the town’s bohemian cafes dotted along snow-dusted alleyways off the main square. Or can choose to unravel history on an informative walking tour taking in the Black Church and even the narrowest street in Europe!
Drift through the clouds as you ascend the Faragas Mountains by cable car up to the magical Ice Hotel past snow-capped peaks and frosty forestland.
Once you’ve settled in to your snow suite and explored the fairytale hotel of ice, get your heart racing with some snow-activities like sledging and snowmobiling or simply kick back with a hot drink and just enjoy the sunshine, snow and scenery.
There are many activities and a couple of packages to choose from, info and prices are as follows.
Bounce and slide your way down the surrounding slopes on a rubber ring for some good old fashioned fun. Prices are charged per person for 30 minutes.
Race a friend around the mountain on this zippy snow bike or hop on with a partner and feel the icy wind in your hair.

Whizz across the frozen lake in the comfort of an inflated raft attached to the back of a snow mobile.

In the evening, brace yourselves for dinner ‘on ice’ with a four-course meal at the world’s first and only Ice Restaurant complete with ice plates, frozen tables and frosty, fur-lined chairs before enjoying an evening at the Sub Zero Ice Bar then tucking yourselves into cosy sleeping bags before braving the night in your ice-suite.
Defrost the next morning before exploring the spooky corridors of Dracula’s would-be residence, the forbidding Bran Castle. Then it’s back to Bucharest for a final night amongst the capital’s buzzing bars and restaurants.
Please note that the ice hotel accommodation is all double rooms with a bed made of ice. The hotel will provide separate sleeping bags and blankets so you will be able to sleep in the same room as your Travel Buddy roommate without getting too cosy! If you fancy joining up with a friend and room sharing there is an option after you have RSVP'd to say who you want to share with. the other hotels we will be staying at will have twin rooms. You will be paired with a similar type of travel buddy and will get to share for all four nights. If you would prefer your own room throughout the trip then there will be a single supplement of £200 for the 4 nights.
Day 1: Arrival in Bucharest (http://untravelledpaths.com/highlights-list/bucharest/) followed by a private airport transfer to your boutique accommodation (http://untravelledpaths.com/experience/the-ice-hotel-experience/highlights/accommodation/) in the Lipscani district where you will be greeted with a coffee or glass of wine, before you head out into the old town to explore and discover the plethora of restaurants and bars
Day 2: Morning transfer to Transylvania via Sinaia with a visit to the magnificent Peles Castle before heading on to the medieval town of Brasov (http://untravelledpaths.com/highlights-list/brasov/) just in time for lunch. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Brasov’s charming old town
Day 3: Travel through the Fagaras Mountains to the cable car which will transport you up to Balea Lake (http://untravelledpaths.com/highlights-list/balea-lake/) and the Ice Hotel (http://untravelledpaths.com/highlights-list/the-ice-hotel/). Enjoy the afternoon on the mountain with a range of snow-based activities including the unmissable Tunnel Trek *(not included), before getting ready for your big night in the Ice Hotel (http://untravelledpaths.com/highlights-list/the-ice-hotel/), which kicks off with the Ice Hotel Dining Experience and drinks at the Sub Zero Ice Bar (not included)
*This Tunnel Trek adventure takes you on a journey through the mountain tunnel and out again to some absolutely spectacular views of the wild Carpathian Mountains and glimpses of alpine wildlife including the epic mountain goat. The trek lasts approximately 75 minutes and is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. You will be equipped with a head torch and a guide for safety. (Tour is approximately £4 and is not included in the price of the trip.)
Day 4: Head back through Transylvania stopping for a visit at Bran Castle, known to many as Dracula’s Castle before travelling back to Bucharest (http://untravelledpaths.com/highlights-list/bucharest/) for the final night
Day 5: Private transfer back to the airport in time for the flight home

Lunches and dinners. Very reasonably priced.
The Ice Hotel 4 course dinner will cost approx. £45. This is an unforgettable experience that kicks off with a complimentary glass of bubbly and an amouse bouche followed by a four course meal with dessert being served on a plate made if ice.
Snow Based activities see details and prices above. I will collect the money for these activities when we are on the trip and you will be able to make your choices when we get to the ice hotel.
You are responsible for booking your own flights, and ensuring that you comply with baggage requirements.

Flight Price today is £79. If you are sure that you would like to joining the trip then I would recommend that you get your flight booked as soon as possible as prices will rise as the plane get's fuller and the closer it gets to the departure date.
Please make sure you have adequate insurance for this trip and any activities that you may be taking part in whilst we are away.
Please note that there may be some slight changes in the itinerary due to opening times and dates of the castles we will endeavour to do everything on the schedule. We have done the trip twice before and there have never been any problems.
The cost of the trip is £429. You will need to pay £79 upon RSVPing and this will secure your place. The remaining balance of £350 will need to be paid by Thursday November the 30th, in to the following account, Please make a note in your diary.
