We will gather at Washington Square (on the side of the street where the park is, on Washington Street, at the intersection of Meeting Street) for parade viewing, then we'll head on a PubTrek to the many excellent spots Newport has to offer!
We will likely be checking in at the following spots:
Pour Judgement (their spelling, not mine)
Norey's Bar & Grille
There are a lot of places along Broadway that are true hidden gems, and likely won't be as crowded as the more famous Thames St.
This list is only a general guideline, but we will post updates to the meetup page as we arrive/depart from any location. The host's phone number will also be provided to those in attendance, just in case.
The 58th Annual Newport, Rhode Island Saint Patrick's Day Parade will be held, rain, snow, or shine, on Saturday, March 15th 2014. It will begin promptly at 11:00am from Newport City Hall and will proceed to Carroll Avenue at Saint Augustin’s Church in the heart of the Fifth Ward. The parade this year is estimated to last 2 hours and will include Pipe Bands, Marching Bands, Fife & Drum Corps, Clown Units, reenactment units, and a host of local, state, and regional organizations including police and fire units, social/fraternal organizations, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Schools, and non-profits.
The Newport Saint Patrick's Day Parade is always held on the Saturday preceding March 17th (St. Patrick's Day), unless the 17th is a Saturday in which case it is held on that day.
