Saturday April 27
Rain day Sunday April 28
Would you believe that on the days surrounding Earth Day the sunrises directly behind the dome of the Belle Isle Conservatory? The dome lights up with gold, silhouetting the plants inside.
We will meet at the Conservatory at 6 a.m. and shoot as the glow quickly grows until it bursts into gold behind the dome. We will then make a quick dash to the south of the Conservatory to capture reflections in the water around it. Next we move over to the Scott Memorial Fountain and capture it bathed in morning light. The Detroit skyline is also beautifully lit, and there are great locations along the shore to capture it as it quickly changes colors with the rising sun. After the beauty of the Conservatory we will visit a very popular urban decay spot right on Belle Isle. Shhhh! It’s a secret!
For this meet up you will need warm clothing, perhaps even gloves and a hat, as the wind on the river can make a spring morning chilly.
