Lunch and Listen is a rewarding summetime opportunity to make a positive impact on children while having fun. Volunteers read stories from selected books for pre-k and elementary-school children while the children enjoy a provided lunch.
RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. IT'S AN EASY TWO-STEP PROCESS.
YOU MUST DO BOTH STEPS.
First register with the supervising librarian, Kathy Hage, [masked] or[masked]. Then come back to Meetup and RSVP with us. You're welcome to sign up for any or all of the four half-hour shifts, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Just let the library know your choice. Our Meetup page shows only that you'll attend.
The event is at KidSpace on the 3rd floor. Readers will work independently with limited guidance from staff. Your audience will range from one child to a small group. This program, now in its fourth year, is a collaborative effort of the library and the School District of Palm Beach County.
Parking for volunteers is free in the public garages downtown. The closest, City Center Garage, is next to the library at 199 N. Dixie Highway. Simply bring in your parking ticket and have it validated.
