Blue Note Grill Monthly Beer Tasting: Classic Styles

Note:  BNG management wants us to mention that "there will be FREE live music as well.  This month's band is Crooked Numbers.  Might also want to mention that the Blue Note serves delicious ribs, burgers, as well as vegetarian fare."  :-)

POUR BOYS PRESENT:  Inaugural monthly beer tasting @ Durham's Blue Note Grill!  Yes, we're those same guys who do the James Joyce Irish Pub beer tastings every 1st Wednesday.  We hope our first BNG flight will be one of many enjoyable 3rd Wednesday tastings of our favorite beverage.  Speaking of which ...

In addition to good old American-style lagers, this delightful beverage is made in myriad styles - from pilsner, kolsh, bock, to pale, amber, stout, to Belgian, saison, and geuze - the whole list could make you dizzy, and you haven't even had a cold one yet!

For our first BNG tasting we'll start with some basics:  six classic styles, featuring a brew that's a top contender in each class.  Ranging from pale to dark, with a balance of English/German types that characterize brews from a Western perspective, you can expect a fun evening trying best-of-breed IPA, Hefeweizen, Pilsner, Bock, Marzen (Oktoberfest) and Stout - barring any last-minute substitutions.

Be sure to join us this Weds. March 20th, for this palate-quenching, top-shelf classic flight event, free live blues music, and some of the areas best ribs, burgers and vegetarian fare. Expect six pours of up to 6 oz. each (depending on the beer).  Cost is $12; no special glass needed.  Runs 7 - 10pm; show up any time in between and taste at your own pace, in whichever order you like.

The fantastic live music really sets the stage for kicking back and trying some stellar beers.

That was fun! good beer selection, good conversation, good music! Thanks much guys for putting together a great event. Looking forward to next month's beer tasting at the Blue Note--I'm sure it will be even bigger and better!

It is a bit too far to drive

Sorry. Yes, the added venue will be farther for some folks, but then I assume it will become a new, convenient activity for some others.

hey Pour Boys, please amend the invitation/listing to mention that there will be FREE live music as well. This month's band is Crooked Numbers. Might also want to mention that the Blue Note serves delicious ribs, burgers, as well as vegetarian fare. thx
