BSC Pint Night - Buy A Pint, Keep The Glass

The 1st Tuesday of each month, The Broad St. Cafe will host a monthly Tri-Beer Pint Night. Purchase a pint of the featured beer and you get to keep the glass.

This month's featured beer is:
Southern Tier Live

“keg conditioned pale ale”

Beer is made by creating a liquid rich with fermentable material.  This ‘wort’ is moved to a fermentation vessel where yeast, a living organism, is added. Yeast swims around the fermenter gobbling up the soluble sugar and converting that energy into alcohol. Imagine the feeding frenzy of millions of tiny yeast cells eating their way around a big fermenter.  It’s a volatile and active environment. During this time, the beer is literally alive.  Just prior to packaging, we add a little yeast to the clear beer for a secondary fermentation. This helps to add carbonation, remove oxygen, and prolong shelf life.

John Hite will be the event host for this monthly meetup. He should probably be somewhere close to the bar. He is really tall with a goatee. Ask anyone behind the bar and he can easily point him out.

These meetups are very informal.  Most folks like to meet at the bar and just hang out with some folks migrating to tables to grab a bite at some point.  If you don't see somebody you recognize, just ask at the bar if anybody is "Tri-Beer".

The Special BEER did not show up, but I did, driving from Granville Co. The barkeep was apologetic but I settled for a LoneRider Shotgun Betty, one of my fsvorite beers. There was nothing but a totally EMPTY BAR & my pic shows my empty glass & back to Granville Co I went!
